The Mirage String Quartet are a professional quartet and have been performing together since 1994.

They have gained a fine reputation throughout Yorkshire/Lancashire, where they are based. All four are or have been members of the orchestra of Opera North, and have studied at major conservatoires in Britain.

Their versatile experience as musicians encompasses both the classical and popular worlds. Members of the Quartet have played alongside Rod Stewart, Cliff Richard, Pavarotti, Lesley Garrett and Gary Barlow, of "Take That" fame.

They are also in great demand as teachers, chamber musicians and soloists. Between them, the quartet have played in some of the finest orchestras in Britain, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, the Northern Sinfonia, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Halle, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata.

Special requests for unusual music can be catered for by the quartet. If you can't see your favourite piece of music in our repertoire catologue, please ask. We will do our utmost to find it for you. Alternatively, the quartet can arrange your music specially, for which an additional fee will be negotiated. A singer or trumpeter can be provided if you wish.

Mirage aim to continually expand their repertoire of classical and lighter music to suit all tastes.
